Viewer Entrances

Entrances greet viewers the first time they chat in each stream — a GIF and sound on your stream, a spoken line, a message in chat, or all of them. Give your regulars their own walk-on, and set defaults for first-time chatters, mods, subs and everyone else.

Entrances work on Kick, Twitch and YouTube chat.

How It Decides Who's "Entering"

  • An entrance plays on a viewer's first message of the stream. Their later messages that stream don't trigger it again.
  • A stream starts when you go live. If SheekBot misses the go-live, it starts with the first chat message after a long quiet spell.
  • Your own messages, SheekBot's, and other chat bots (BotRix, StreamElements, Nightbot and many more) never count.
  • Each viewer gets one entrance per stream: their own if you made one, otherwise the first default that fits, in this order:
    1. First-time chatters — their very first message in your chat, ever
    2. Moderators
    3. Subscribers (members on YouTube)
    4. Everyone else

Prerequisites

What you need depends on what the entrance does:

Part What it needs
GIF / image, sound, popup text The Alert Box overlay in OBS or Meld (part of Pro)
Spoken line TTS switched on and the TTS browser source in OBS or Meld
Chat message Nothing extra — works on every plan

The Entrances page shows a checklist of anything that's missing.

Step 1: Style the Popups (Optional)

All entrance popups share one look — headline, layout, animation, colors and how long they stay up. Go to Dashboard → Entrances → Style popups. That opens the alert editor for your Viewer Entrances alert. The default headline is "{user} has entered the chat!". You can also give it a default GIF that shows for any entrance without its own.

Step 2: Set Your Defaults

On Dashboard → Entrances, under Defaults, click Set up on any group and choose what plays. You don't need all four — set only the ones you want.

Defaults come with a cooldown (15 seconds for first-time chatters, 30 for everyone else) so a raid doesn't queue up dozens of entrances. Change it in the entrance's settings.

Step 3: Give Regulars Their Own Entrance

  1. Click Viewer entrance
  2. Enter their username and pick a platform (or Any platform)
  3. Choose what plays:
    • GIF or image — search GIFs, upload one (GIF, PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 10MB) or paste an https:// link
    • Sound — pick one of 70+ built-in sounds (search, or browse categories like Entrances and Voice lines) or upload one (MP3, WAV or OGG, up to 5MB). A walk-on theme works great.
    • Popup text — shown under the headline
    • Spoken line — read out by TTS
    • Chat message — posted in your chat
  4. Click Add entrance, then the Test button (paper plane) to see it on your overlay right away. Tests skip the chat message.

Variables

Use these in popup text, spoken lines and chat messages:

  • {user} — the viewer's name
  • {streams} — how many of your streams they've chatted in
  • {streak} — how many in a row (see Streaks below)

Example: "The legend {user} returns — {streak} streams in a row! 🔥"

Streaks

SheekBot counts how many of your streams in a row each viewer has chatted in. Bots can't see lurkers, so streaks are based on chat.

  • !streak — a viewer's current streak and best (!streak name checks someone else)
  • !topstreaks — the five longest active streaks
  • Top streaks on the Entrances page shows the leaderboard

Going Further with Automations

For anything the Entrances page doesn't cover, use Dashboard → Automations with these triggers (each per platform):

  • Viewer Entrance — any viewer's first message of the stream
  • First-Time Chatter — someone's first message ever
  • Returning Viewer — someone who has chatted before
  • Streak Milestone — a streak hits 3, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 (or your own list)

Each has a role filter, a cooldown and an ignore these names list (handy for your own custom bot or a co-host).

Troubleshooting

  • The test sends nothing — add an Alert Box overlay for popups, or switch TTS on for spoken lines. The checklist at the top of the page shows which is missing.
  • A viewer didn't get their entrance — it plays only once per stream, so if they chatted earlier in the stream it already ran. Check the username and platform match, and that the entrance is switched on.
  • The popup shows but no sound — browser sources start muted in some OBS setups. In OBS, right-click the Alert Box source → Properties and make sure audio is controlled by OBS and not muted in the audio mixer.
  • Too many entrances during a raid — raise the cooldown on your defaults.
